Podcast List

Top 9 Podcast ListI began listening to Podcasts last year and they have made a huge difference in how I keep up with the latest news and business trends. I find that I have less and less time to read books or articles about business and marketing. Podcasts fill this void and allow me to gather information from a variety of sources.

First things first, it is important to find a podcast program option that is right for you. My personal favorite is the Downcast app for the iPhone. My favorite feature of this app is the ability to speed up the podcast speed. You can go up to 3x the actual speed of the podcast. I find that most people talk at such a speed that listening to the podcast 3x the actual speed is possible. This makes it easy to fly through different podcasts. With Downcast, you simply add podcasts and then refresh your list to obtain the most recent episodes for that podcast. These can be audio or video podcasts. Apple has also released its own podcast app. Downcast costs $1.99 and the Apple podcast player is free.

Here is a list of my favorite podcasts that deal with technology, business, and marketing:

This is one of my favorite podcasts and focuses on all things technology. TWiT is hosted by Leo Laporte and has a rotating team. This podcast is produced live each Sunday and usually runs around 2 hours. This podcast keeps me up to date on new technology releases from Apple, Samsung, etc. while also keeping me updated on changes to Google search and website development solutions. The show is very entertaining and the hosts are funny. This podcast is a must for anyone in the technology field.

    Erik,
I’m so glad to hear how much you enjoy podcasts – I’m even more happy to hear that’s where you found my book. 🙂
I just wrote about a podcast worth checking out – it’s called The Unconventionals. I just wrote about it this week…

It’s a great example of a brandscape and it’s a really good podcast. I think it’s one to add to your list after a few listens.
    Happy listening.

    Erik,
I do… I have at least one more… I’ll keep thinking about them… but I think every marketer should listen to On The Media (an NPR program). It’s not about marketing per se, but I learn a ton about the media each and every week from their awesome show!

It’s good to get some perspective on the news media, the publishing business and the ins-and-outs of the media world at-large.
Let me know what you think!
