Google now considers well over 200 primary factors when ranking websites in their search engine. I’m often asked what is the most important of these factors and I always reply – fresh content.

Google loves to see fresh content on your website. It is in their best interest to provide not just the most relevant answer to a search query, but the newest and freshest. One way you can easily set apart your site from your competitors is to consistently provide new content.

Here are three of the most common ways to keep your content fresh:

  1. A blog or news section. One relevant blog post per month is better than having a website with no new content for the past 3 years.
  2. Update existing content on your main pages (Home, About, Services, etc.).
  3. Update the photos throughout your website.
